What are You Creating Today?

LightWhat are you creating today? This was the question Rev. Dr. Michale Beckwith, the founder and señor minister at the Agape International Spiritual Center https://agapelive.com in Beverly Hills, asked this last Sunday. This simple question was profound for me. It made me think and I hope it makes you think too. Rev Michale went on to remind us that we are all born creators, that is who we are, and what we were created to do.

This is an extremly profound truth. You were born to create, and you can create literally anything you want. God, Spirit, the Universe, the Mind, Universal Intelligence, whatever you want to call, whatever it is… Wants you to create. Let me repeat that, God wants you to create.

Dr. Beckwith went on to tell us to let go of our victim consciousness. He is saying stop pretending that you are a victim. Stop pretending that you are anything less than awesome, fantastic, with all the abilities in the world. Stop pretending that you are not complete, whole, and truly unique in every way. Know that there is no one, absolutely no one like you. You are the only you that was ever, or will ever be. And just being born, being the sperm that made it is one in something like 13 trillion. Believe it when I tell you, you are truly special.LukeSign_18x24_Tag1_preview

Rev Michal went on to ask, “What do you need?” The answer is…NOTHING.

If you can truly create anything, why not create your perfect home, sale, or rental property? Really, what is it you are creating today? Ask yourself, what do I want to create. My buddy Arron wanted a cabin in Big Bear, and he now has a beautiful cabin in Big Bear. Ask and you shall receive. Choose what it is you want to create, and it will be created. So why not create your new or NextHome… ha ha… did you like the way I threw that in there? Again, Rev Michale asks you, what are you creating today?

MagicAre you interested in the magic of manifesting whatever it is you desire? Do you believe in magic? Can one really just think of something and BAM it is a reality?  Today we are talking about intention. Setting an intention is a major influence on what and how you can attract what it is you want into your life. It truly can seem magical. You can look at it the way Albert Einstein thought of it, “There are two ways to live your life: One is as though nothing is a miracle the other is as though everything is a miracle.”

An Intention, when set and intensely thought about can and will assist you in manifesting that thing that you are thinking about into your life. The first step is to know and to be clear on what it is you want. For me, I want to have a townhome on the bluffs. The bluffs are western facing not only to the sunset (which is awesome) but also the Pacific Ocean. For me, being about to see the sunset from my own living room, bedroom, or balcony every night is a dream come true! Many days I either drive to the bluffs or the beach to see the sunset. That is a two or a five-mile drive, just to witness a sunset. LukeSign_18x24_Tag1_preview

You too can set an intention on where you want to live next. Maybe it is in Hawaii, Florida, or the south of France. You might like to retire in England or be an actor in New York City. Maybe you want to get a bigger home right where you live, or maybe scale down to something a bit smaller.

Whatever it is you desire there is magic in simply the act of setting an intention followed by a bit of action. There is a Quaker expression, “Pray and move your feet.” When you set an intention followed by action, you are a powerful force.

It was the last day of eighth grade, there was an assembly and the school gave out awards. One of the awards was for most outstanding athletic for the entire school. Bill McCadden won the award for the most outstanding athletic for all of the ninth grade boys that year. At that moment I set an intention to win it the next year. There were 716 kids in my class, assuming 50% were boys, the odds of me winning that award the next year was one in 358! Not Good Odds. I set an intention to win it the next year. I went out for every sport and did the best I could. I also kept my intention and desire to win it in my head almost every day. And exactly one year later, I walked home with that award, (a really nice trophy) and a lesson that if I set an intention and keep it in mind I can achieve that which I put my intention on.

Whatever it is you desire, a home, a dream vacation, or a mate. Set an intention and add a little action and there is bound to be some magic. Know that, “There are two ways to live your life: One is as though nothing is a miracle the other is as though everything is a miracle.”

We can all get so much more accomplished when and if we just have a little curiosity. Nothing great ever happens without it. What if Thomas Edison wasn’t curious about how a light bulb worked? What if man/woman didn’t care about figuring out how to start a fire or invent the wheel? What if Ben and Jerry weren’t curious about how to make a better ice cream?

The world is so much better when we are curious. This also works in real estate for both buyers, sellers, and they’re agents. Without being curious one might not ever move in the first place. A person might not even think something like, “what would it be like to have a bigger better home? What would it take to move to the beach? Can David really sell our house for the number we want to sell it for?LukeSign_18x24_Tag1_preview

When I started out as a real estate agent, I was curious about what I might be able to do for my clients, where can I find them, and how can I make it happen? To be curious is a step toward action. Action that may be new, creative and rewarding.

Albert Einstein says this about curiosity, “The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he/she contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day. Never lose a holy curiosity.”

Don’t be afraid to be curious. It could help you make that move you have been wanting to make, or to move you to find the home of your dreams.

Diversity, Union, and Love

DisneyYesterday was one amazing day. All days are amazing, and what made yesterday extraordinary was the fact that I came face to face with people from many different, faiths, cultures and ethnic backgrounds. All that I could see, hear, and sense was that we are all the same. As Walt Disney said, “it’s a small world after all, it’s a small, small, small, small world!”

The first thing I did after breakfast was to live stream the service from the Agape International Spiritual Center. There was a guest speaker Panache Desai, Panache is a thought leader, author, and speaker who reminds us that we are all enough. Panache message of healing is so compelling he was interviewed by Oprah on Super Bowl Sunday. I was very moved by his sincerity, authenticity, delivery, and desire to share the message that we are all enough, and so much more. The title of the talk was, Aline, Attune, and Ascend, you can watch the service here: https://agapelive.com/collections/streaming-archive/products/sunday-june-23rd-2019.   LukeSign_18x24_Tag1_preview

For me, what makes the Agape congregation so extraordinary is the acceptance, diversity, and unity between them! Agape is about as diverse as it can get. You will find people from all walks of life, all colors, all ethnicities, straight, gay, young, and old people all attending Agape. As the founder, Rev. Dr. Michale Beckwith says, “We accept everybody.” You will find the following explanation of Agape, on the Agape website: https://agapelive.com  “A trans-denominational spiritual community open to all seekers in search of authentic spirituality, personal transformation and selfless service to humankind. Our aspiration is that every individual who is touched by the vibration of Agape is inspired to cultivate a heart of love as wide as the world.” The love in the Sanctuary at the Saban Theater in Beverly Hills is always palpable.

My girlfriend came over around 10 a.m. and we were off to a celebration at a Buddist Temple in Chino Hills, Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep. The people were all from a different religion and a different race than me. What we experienced was the same, love, unity and acceptance there is at Agape. It was amazing, we ate, we prayed, and were blessed by a monk who was, in my words defiantly prayed up. We both could feel his spirituality, love, and closeness with the Divine. They also fed us and a few hundred other guests a delicious Thai food style meal. Food can almost always bring people together.

But wait, we were not done yet, we drove just 2 1/2miles to a Hindu temple also in Chino Hills, BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir https://www.baps.org/LosAngeles. The entire temple and surrounding campus is gorgeous, as you can see below.  The beauty of the entire place was only superseded by the beauty of the people! They were from a completely different religion, a different race of people, and a different culture than the Thai Temple, or the congregation of Agape. And it was and is all the same. We ate a wonderful Indian meal, we prayed and we were blessed. It was exactly the same as Hindu TempleAgape, and the Thai Temple there was only one this going on. Diversity, Union, and Love.

The point I’m making is the world and the people in it is so much all the same. It is a small world after all. Yes, there is a bit of a feeling of separation and isolation going on in the White House and a few who don’t see what my girlfriend and I saw yesterday. In reality, the appearance of separation is not real. This world and the people in it may look different, eat different foods, worship the Divine in a different way, and even speak a different language, and in reality, we are all the same, we are all truly one.

When looking for a place to live, may I suggest to Not limit yourselves to a neighborhood where the people look, talk, or pray the same as you. There is beauty, love, and harmony in diversity. We are all one people on this planet expressing ourselves and the Divine in unique and wonderful diverse ways. Don’t run from it, run to it and see, feel, and experience the love of God, the planet and the wonderful, awesome, extraordinary people you will encounter.
